RESTAURANT SELECTION

Vegetarian Restaurants are a good bet; so are health food restaurants. You may of course, already have a convert in the owner and then your problem will be minimal. Among American restaurants, one featuring a salad bar can be a lifesaver. Cafeterias have the advantage of showing you exactly what you are getting before items are delivered to your table. The problem is almost everything they serve is swimming in fats and sugars, leaving you with slim pickings. Chinese Restaurants are good because their food is customarily cooked to order. You can often get the chef to prepare a dish of steamed vegetables. Be sure to ask them to hold the MSG, sugar, oil and salt. Little dish of soy sauce goes a long way toward flavoring your food. Italian restaurants pasta isn't as good as the whole wheat variety you have stocked in your kitchen, but it will do. Order unbuttered spaghetti with a tomato sauce a cup of minestrone if it's not the fatty kind, and a dry salad dressed with lemon juice, or mild vinegar. Remembering to avoid Parmesan and restrict those salty olives. Seafood Restaurant is OK, if you want to eat fish. Stay away from high cholesterol shell fish and butter and tartar sauce.

BUDGET EQUATION

Focus on your basic needs and always remember that your desires or frequent partying may cause your budget to waver in an adverse way. So, pay attention to your urgent needs. Making a budget does not mean that you have been chained down. Recreation is also a necessary part of life. You should go out with your family or friends on weekends or holiday. You may pamper yourself in a spa once in a while, or sometimes enjoy a movie or dinner combo. But if you to throw a birthday party or an anniversary party, you should kip your other entertainment activities for that month so as to balance your budget.
