Food Substitution

Our main aim should be to eat that which provides maximum nutrition and results in a constant release of energy in the body.

The mantra should be "substitution". The quality of ingredients makes a difference in one's health. One should always opt for organic, natural and unprocessed or unrefined ingredients in their diet. substitute a primarily meat based diet with vegetarian food. The modern diet is based on meat which provides us with animal protein, which is heavy to digest. It also has saturated fat, that causes more harm in the body than good. The best option is to choose a diet which comprises of vegetarian ingredients.

Vegetarianism has been prevalent in Asian societies for thousands of years. Long time vegetarians are less likely to be at risk when it comes to diseases like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, colon and rectal cancer, high blood pressure and obesity. Vegetarians also show a lower incidence of prostate cancer, cancer of the ovaries and breast cancer. Many of the benefits stem from diet that is lower in total fat, saturated fat and cholesterol while higher in fibre thanks to fruits and vegetables, which also contain several disease lighting compounds.

Milk Contents

This high quality, easily digestible protein in cow milk is one of the key reasons why milk is such an important human food. Once casein is removed, and then by definition every other protein left in the milk preparation is a whey protein. The major whey proteins in cow milk are B-lacto globulin, and a-lacto globulin. A-lacto globulin is an important protein in the synthesis of lactose and its presence is central to the process of milk synthesis. B-lacto globulin’s function is not known. Other whey proteins are the immunoglobulin and serum albumin. Whey proteins also include a long list of enzymes, hormones, growth factors, and others.

The major minerals found in the milk are calcium and phosphorous. These minerals are required in large quantities by the rapidly growing neonate for bone growth and development of soft tissues.

Milk contains all the major vitamins. The fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K are bound primarily in the milk fat: milk fat has only limited amounts of Vitamin K. The B vitamins are found in the aqueous phase of milk. Milk always contains leukocyte cells, also known as somatic cells in cow milk. The concentration of leukocytes in milk varies with the species, infection status of the gland and stage of lactation. Milk has numerous other components many of which are grouped in the major bio chemical components. These may include bio active factors such as hormones and growth factors, enzymes, cellular proteins and others.

Make Up in Public

CLEAN UP YOUR ACT
Choose a make up bag that you can wipe clean, keep your pencils sharpened and carry those cosmetics you don't mind showing off.

TRAVEL LIGHT
Get a small travel light that can fit into your bag.

HOLD THE FOUNDATION
Applying foundation is too elaborate to do in public, but powdering your nose is something that can be done with a subtle flourish, especially if you have cute and compact brush.

BLUSH WITH CREAM
Dabbing on a cream blush with your finger looks neater than getting out yet another powder and brush. Carry a couple-a rosy shade can double up as a lip tint (add shine with a quick lick of clear glass over the top), and add a taupe one can be blended into your eye sockets.

LINE UP, LINE UP
If you need to put an evening spin on a day time look, applying some black kohl inside your lash line gives instant wow factor every time and is far less fussy than eye shadow.

Please don't eat the Animals

Nearly everyone knows that most of them eat too much fat. around 40 to 45 percent of calories we eat comes from fat. About half of this amount comes from visible, or added fats and oils. The other half is not as readily seen because most of it is well hidden.Hidden fats, the kind we often over look, are almost all from animal products. Most of the fats are hidden in meat, cheese, cream and milk.

Many people are surprised to learn that meat especially red meat, is the single largest source of fat available in most countries. While meat meat does supply many quality nutrients, it also provides an over abundance of fat calories and protein. Getting enough protein is not the problem. Many people eat in abundance, say 80 to 125 grams of protein per day, scientists show that we need only 40 to 56 grams of protein a day.

Generally speaking animal products are very calorie dense foods. They provide no fiber and very few carbohydrate calories, the body's preferred fuel. Instead they are loaded with fat and a lot of protein.

Safe From Physical Harm For Elders

Since our parents and grandparents are no longer as sprightly as they used to be, a system similar to childproofing will be necessary to accident proof their homes.

Make sure that there are no slippery surfaces, remove floor coverings that may skid and cause them to trip or fall, install hand rails and grips that they can hold on when navigating tricky areas, and install an Indian commode or portable potty if they are unable to use an Indian one.

Also convince them to always carry identification and medical details with them on their person, so that rescuers are able to contact the family soon in an emergency.

Encourage them to carry essential medication with them.

Why Teach Art To Children?

Why Teach Art To Children?

Experts consider that art is essential for learning. Art actually helps children perform better in other areas of life and makes learning a more well-rounded experience. According to neuroscientists, the more a child’s brain is stimulated, the more intricate and complex become the neuronal connections. This complexity translates into better memory perceptions and cognitive abilities which are all important for learning process. Art teaches children to look at a phenomenon from different angles. This is an important strategy which scientists use in their discoveries. It is also said that art is a great stress-buster. It is the involvement in a creative process, coupled with the release of emotion and diversion from the stress-or that makes art a good source of relaxation. Encourage your child to express his anger or frustration through painting.

Several modalities like hand-eye coordination, motor-memory, and emotion, short-term and long-term memory are more influenced by using art. Art provides an opportunity for self-expression, self –discovery, self-esteem and confidence. Keep all sorts of materials available like markers, paper, chalk, clay, sculpt dough, 3-D manipulations, etc. Display your child’s work on the fridge or bulletin board. Kitchen Treasure

Papaya - It is rich in vitamins A and C and contains enzymes to aid digestion. Thanks to enzymes with mild exfoliating properties, Asian women daub papaya around their eyes to eradicate fine lines. It is used as a body wrap that oozes into body cervices and sloughs off dead skin cells.

Tamarind – The sour tamarind fruit is a great laxative. The bark reduces blood pressure and leaves are used in herbal steam preparations. Like papaya, tamarind is a natural exfoliator, improving skin texture.

Lemon Grass – When eaten, lemon grass speeds up a slow digestive system. In oil, it is good for calming hot, perspiring feet, and used in an herbal steam bath it soothes digestive disorders.

Aloe Vera – It is much prized for healing properties of the thick, clear gel stored in its leaves, which helps clear skin blemishes, heal scars, burns and sunburns and moisturizes skin. Taken internally it soothes digestive disorders.

Analgesics to the treatment of simple pain

Analgesics are drugs that relieve pain. Moreover, effectiveness varies greatly with patient and conditions. A healthy adult with occasional headache, an arthritis sufferer with congestive heart failure, an infant with high fever – each may do best with a different preparation.

Be skeptical when you read analgesic labels and ads. Manufacturers often exaggerate circumstances under which their product may help. Very likely you’ll be best off with plain aspirin.

Watch out for products that claim to cure or bring long-lasting relief for symptoms of arthritis, bursitis, fibrositis, lumbago, neuralgia, neuritis, or sciatica. Nonprescription analgesics will provide only temporary relief for these conditions. And nonprescription analgesics are relatively ineffective for pains of cuts and other wounds, for muscle spasms and cramps, or for very sever pain.

In general, limit your use of over-the-counter analgesics to the treatment of simple headache; the temporary relief of minor aches and pains associated with rheumatism, arthritis, bursitis, sprains, and neuralgia; the temporary relief of minor aches and pains due to overexertion, fatigue, sinusitis, or common colds; and the temporary relief of toothache and of minor cramps from menstruation.

Use of analgesics may mask a condition requiring medical attention. Pain, no matter how mild, may be a symptom of a serious disease. If pain persists, suspend self-medication and consult a physician.
