The importance of an ATV winch cannot be under estimated but what about the winch rope
which does the actual pulling. The synthetic winch rope is just as important if not more than the
winch itself.
Just as the winch should be bought according to the size and weight of the ATV, similarly the
ATV synthetic winch rope should also be bought accordingly. These winch ropes come in a lot
of different thickness and lengths. The salesman who deals with these ropes should be able to
guide you according to your ATV. So do consult it with him.

- 3/16"x40'(4.75mmx12m), with a stainless steel thimble. Its capacity is to pull around
2450kgs or 5400lbs.
- 3/16"x50'(4.75mmx15m), with again a stainless steel thimble. Its capacity is the same as
above stated winch rope.
- 3/16"x40'(4.75mmx12m), with aluminum thimble. Again the capacity is to pull 2450 kgs or 5400lbs.
- 3/16"x50'(4.75mmx15m) with aluminum thimble with the similar strength of 2450 kgs or 5400lbs.
You can also get stronger cables with diameters of 5/16" and 7/16".
Buying the right strength of cable is not enough. For your own safety’s sake you should take
care of your ATV winch rope so that it doesn’t snap at the wrong moment. For example while
using the rope if it is bent over a sharp edge of a rock, place something like a folded blanket
underneath so that it doesn’t tear. Similarly you should keep inspecting your rope every now and then to see if it has even minor tears or cuts.
